About Tuscany Explorer
Tuscany Explorer is an independent English-language travel website created to help travellers plan thoughtful, realistic and memorable trips across Tuscany. We cover famous art cities, smaller hill towns, countryside, coast, islands, food, wine, outdoor experiences and the practical details that can make the difference between a rushed itinerary and a well-planned journey.
What we do
Our aim is to turn destination inspiration into useful trip planning. That means explaining not only what is worth seeing, but also how places fit together geographically, how much time to allow, when a car is useful, when a train is easier, where parking and ZTL rules matter, and which experiences deserve advance booking.
We publish destination guides, itineraries, transport advice, accommodation planning, food and wine features, family travel ideas and experience guides. We try to distinguish stable information from details that can change, such as opening hours, ticket prices, transport schedules and seasonal events.
How we research our guides
We prioritise official tourism bodies, municipalities, museums, transport operators, attraction websites, event organisers and other first-party sources for facts that can change. We may also compare reputable booking platforms and travel providers when doing so helps readers understand availability, typical formats or booking conditions.
Because travel information changes, readers should always re-check time-sensitive details with the relevant operator before travelling.
Editorial independence
Tuscany Explorer is supported in part through affiliate partnerships. Some links may earn us a commission if a reader books or purchases through them, at no additional cost to the reader. Commercial relationships do not determine our editorial conclusions, and we aim to recommend options because they are useful for the trip being discussed, not simply because a commission is available.
Who the site is for
The site is designed primarily for independent travellers who want enough practical detail to make their own decisions: first-time visitors, repeat visitors looking beyond the obvious places, couples, families, road-trippers, train travellers and people building multi-day itineraries across Tuscany.
Corrections and updates
Travel information can become outdated. If we identify a material error, we aim to correct it rather than leave misleading information online. Our Editorial Policy explains how we approach sources, corrections, commercial relationships and updates in more detail.
